Helpful things to know as we get to know you.

A letter from our pastor

Welcome!

I'm so glad that you are exploring our church online. I pray God's blessings for you as you discern and discover the many great churches we have in Waco and Robinson. I hope that this website and our social media accounts help you get a taste for St. John, and I'd love to get to know you a little better.

We're a historic church at the heart of Robinson, Texas, experiencing a season of renewal and growth. On any given Sunday, you'll find seasoned saints, energetic teenagers, and folks in their 30's, 40's, and 50's as well. We are purposely growing in our racial diversity, alongside folks of all genders, political persuasions, identities, and religious backgrounds. We're small and loving, reverent and comfortable, generous and thoughtful, and I love getting to serve this congregation.

So why should you consider joining St. John over any of the other great churches in our town? We are purposely inclusive, witnessing to the grace of God for all people: democrat or republican, gay or straight, any color or ethnic background. We welcome all into membership, service, and leadership as they are called. We are forward-thinking while being grounded in our tradition. Our faith is 2,000 years old, but our vision is for the future. Members of this church become family, becoming deeply loved and known by their new friends. We're not perfect by any means, but we are growing and evolving.

If you have any questions, I'd love to chat with you. Perhaps the best way to learn about St. John is to join us for worship. We'd love to welcome you at St. John, and I hope to get to know you soon!

In Christ,

Rev. Jacob Brenton
